A good friend of mine is a makeup artist and she always gives me tips on how to achieve the best look for my features...Well I am kinda clueless about makeup and let me tell you this girls....I've been trying to find the right shade of foundation/powder for years!!! I've tried them all...MAC, Fashion Fair, Iman, Bobbi Brown, Black'Up...
First of all let me start by saying this: I hate the idea of wearing a foundation every day, but hey who does not like that polished and fabulous face that will complete, oh so well, your impeccable outfit?
I believe that "less is more" though.....Just a little bit of foundation or tinted moisturizer will help enhance your beauty. I am all for a natural and glowy look.
Well, this post will help us share our makeup finds and application tips. I can sure use some help in that department.
I am a dark skinned gal and here are my all time makeup favorites:
Foundation/powder:
Since I don't use this everyday, I tend to splurge on these items. I really like Bobbi Brown's Oil free Even finish foundation in Walnut. It's a little pricey but a little goes a loooong way! I luv the natural finsih this gives me and it helps even out all the blemishes.
I have very oily skin and I need something to keep the oilies at bay. I love MAC Pressed Blot powder for that.
I also like Black'Up and used to order it from Macys in New York. But they closed all their US stores. Too bad they did not do well here, they were pretty good!
Mascara:
I am a mascara addict!!! If a product says it will give me catty eyes, long and full lashes, I'll buy it!!! I tried tones and tones of mascaras but always go back to DIORSHOW mascara. This mascara is fabulous!! I read in a magazine that Jlo uses this and I had to try it! Well I've been addicted for 5 years!
There is a good drugstore dupe to Diorshow. It's Rimmel Lycra Lash Mascara. You'll find this for cheap at Walmart or any drugstore.
Eyeliner:
I use whatever is on sale at the drugstore but always find myself going back to the Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner.
Lipgloss:
Now this is my department!! Don't you just love the fabulousness of a lipgloss?? It's so sexaay!! For some reason I noticed that my hubby pays more attention when I have some lipgloss on hahahah! Well I don't blame him, a lipgloss makes lips fuller and prettier! It is a must have for every single woman! Some will say that shiny lips are a little out there but a tiny bit of outrageousness is good!!!
Now, if I want to go for a very simple & plain look, I usually go with Lancome Juicy tubes or C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine.
For a little more sophisticated look my favorite are:
1- Dior Addict Lipglosses in jersey pink, stitch of brown, brown corset, ribbon mauve....
2- Stila Lipglazes in Watermelon, Vanilla, Apricot (I like all stila lipglazes)
Eyeshadow:
I found two cheap trios by "Wet n Wild" that I got from Walmart for like $2. I loveeeee these trios! They are both brown and I have gotten plenty of compliments on my eyes when wearing these trios. *Belgian Chocolates and *Egyptian Sands. They are lovely!
Lipstick:
None I don't wear them!
Blushes:
I rarely wear blushes. I have one( MAC Powder blush in "Raizin) in my stash that I put on if I want a different look! I really need to experiment more in this department but I am lazy!

Good luck! :)
