Hmmm...Pad Thai! TGIF!!!

I am making some Pad Thai for my sweety. I always use Pim's recipe and I hope she does not mind me posting it here. It's always very yummy and tasty. I add some red pepper (kaani) for my hubby though. You can find all the details and instructions here. It's very easy!

Finally Friday!! I love fridays!!! Specially after a tough week @ work. Plus it's going to be cold in Florida tomorrow!! Yippie! I can finally bust out my coats and boots. I miss Boston weather...terribly!
Anyways - since it's casual on Fridays @ work, here is what I am planning to wear:

Lady in a tie...

Well today I was feeling a little "blah" about my wardrobe and decided I needed to spice up things a little....
My husband is not a tie lover, but he has a few nice ties that are sitting in the back of his closet. Well, I decided to borrow one of them and replicate an outfit from a magazine. But I needed something soft and "discreet" because I did not want the "manly" look. I picked up a skinny whitish cream tie with some very thin gold stripes. It actually looked a little "girly". That's probably why he never wore it! lol
Anyways, here is the outfit I put together and uploaded on Polyvore. I had a cream sweater around my shoulders but I could not find the picture online to upload.

My friend Anta was in Senegal and brought me some cute "pagnes".
She said that they are for lounging at home only, but I am planning to wear them at the grocery store and at the beach too. I live in Florida so they will come handy!

Raw Diet, anyone?

I've been home for the last 2 weeks with the hubby, cooking, eating and sleeping. The result is not pretty since I put on some weight and my skin looks so dull and blemished.
I was talking to a girlfriend about this last night and she mentionned the Raw Food Diet, which is basically eating only uncooked/unprocessed food.
Here are some claimed benefits that I found on the net:

• Increased energy level.
• Clear, soft skin.
• Establish and maintain your ideal body weight.
• You do not feel deprived of eating.
• Eat as much as you want and not gain weight.
• Enjoy a deep, sound sleep at night.
• Have regular bowel movements and rarely suffer from constipation or indigestion.
• Look younger and healthier.
• Your health and fitness levels increase.
• Your eyes will be more clear and bright.
• Feel happy throughout the day - with no signs of depression.
• Your level of concentration and focus will improve greatly.
• Your instincts and intuitiveness will be sharper.
• Less degenerative disease.
• Less frequent or less intense colds and flus.

All of this sounds really good but I do not believe it is sustainable. I need my grilled lamb and my african stews at least a couple of times a week lol.
Is this diet healthy? Anybody tried it and seen great results on body, mind and skin? I am going back to work tomorrow and would like to start a healthy program to loose weight and add some glow to my skin. Let me know please.

New Bag Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Wine !!

Love love it!!! I bought in October 2008 and never got a chance to wear it until the past 2 weeks.
It is so versatile, the leather is soft and gorgeous. I am so tempted to buy another color but I will refrain myself since I am on a ban right??? :)))
This is a bag I would recommend to anyone looking for an everyday bag.

Oh the booties....

We are cleaning the house today because we want a "fresh & clean" start for the year. The house has been a total mess this past week! Cleaning and having everything in order will help feel more comfortable and relaxed before we go back to work on Monday.
While cleaning today, I had the TV on "The City". Never watched this before but apparently it is a brand new MTV reality show. Anyways, one of the girls was wearing a georgous pair of booties and I was dying to find out the brand!!!
I've never been a big fan of booties but I was in NY a couple of weeks ago and noticed a few cute pairs on some girls in the city.
I need to get me a pair of louboutin booties!! So much for sticking to my new year's resolutions...

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to everybody!

Wishing you all a very happy 2009, tones of happiness, love, wealth and a great health.
I do not usually have new year's resolutions but here are things I want to do in 2009:

- Spend more time with my family
- Save more and stop buying bags; I am obsessed with Handbags (Gucci, Minkoff, Balenciaga etc..). I plan not to buy any in 2009 and save the money.
- Exercise at least 4-5 times a week
- Go to bed earlier: DH and I usually go to bed around 11PM sometimes midnight - we always feel tired during the week. Hopefully this will change in 2009!

Here is my outfit last night. We decided to stay home for NYE but went out shopping for a couple of hours (Top F21, Macys Earrings, Jcrew jeans, Balenciaga bag, Michele watch)
